چکیده:

This work is devoted to experimental studies on some physico-mechanical properties of Portland cement mortar modified with hydrophobic organo-bentonite. The results obtained confirm that organo-modified bentonite provides a dense packing effect. An optimum level of replacement around 3.5% (by weight) at an increased water-to-cement ratio of 0.53 results in an almost 11.5% increase in 28-day compressive strength along with about 14 and 16.5% reductions in total volume of permeable pore space and water absorption respectively.
